Phillips 66 Sells Stake in Swiss JV for $1.24 Billion, Shares Dip

Phillips 66 has announced the sale of its 49% stake in Coop Mineraloel AG (CMA) to its Swiss joint venture partner for $1.24 billion. Microsoft Escapes UK Probe Over Inflection AI Staff Recruitment

Microsoft has avoided a full-blown UK investigation into its recruitment of staff from startup Inflection AI. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) determined that while the acquisition of certain Inflection assets constituted a merger situation, it wouldn’t significantly impact competition. Microsoft’s acquisition of Inflection staff has been seen as a strategic move to diversify its AI capabilities. Meanwhile, the CMA is conducting separate investigations into Microsoft’s investment in OpenAI and Amazon’s partnership with Anthropic.
