The Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) has developed a comprehensive action plan to address the negative effects of mass tourism in the Mediterranean region. The plan, part of the EU-funded ECO-CRUISING FU_TOUR Project, aims to mitigate environmental degradation, infrastructure strain, and negative impacts on local communities as tourist numbers are expected to increase significantly by 2028.
