Malaysia Coast Guard Intercepts Oil Tanker Involved in Singapore Collision

The Malaysian coast guard has located and detained an oil tanker involved in a collision off Singapore, which caused a fire and injured crew members. The tanker, Ceres I, was found in Malaysian waters with two tugboats towing it, after it had previously left the collision site and turned off its tracking system. The coast guard is investigating the incident and has found minor traces of an oil spill.

Three US Citizens Wanted in Fatal Shooting Apprehended in Coast Guard Interdiction

Following an interdiction by the Coast Guard Cutter Winslow Griesser crew on April 19 in Mona Passage, three wanted U.S. citizens were apprehended. The vessel, carrying eight people and multiple cockfighting roosters, was intercepted approximately 55 nautical miles northwest of Puerto Rico and was traveling from the Dominican Republic to Puerto Rico when it experienced engine malfunctions. An investigation revealed the presence of three U.S. citizens wanted in connection with a fatal July 2020 shooting in Puerto Rico. The suspects are currently in the custody of the Dominican Republic’s Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas (DNCD), while the United States Marshals Service Puerto Rico Fugitive Task Force is coordinating their deportation.
