Make Music Salem 2024: A Celebration of Music and Community

Make Music Salem 2024, scheduled for Friday, June 21st, will be a day filled with musical performances, camaraderie, and festivities throughout the city. The event, now in its ninth year, expects to host over 150 musical acts performing at 40 different venues. Participation from musicians, venue hosts, sponsors, volunteers, and music enthusiasts is crucial for the event’s success, as everyone is invited to enjoy the performances or get involved by performing or hosting.

Annual Plant Sale to Benefit Trillium Chapter of Perennial Garden Club

On May 18th, the Trillium Chapter of the Perennial Garden Club will host their annual plant sale at 601 W. Olive St., Stillwater, from 8 a.m. to noon. A wide variety of plants will be available for purchase, including perennials, annuals, herbs, and vegetables. Club members will be on hand to assist with plant selection and provide gardening advice. Proceeds from the sale will support the maintenance of the public rock garden across the street from the Lowell Inn, provide scholarships for horticulture students, and promote pollinator education.

Penn Hills Arbor Day Celebration to be Held in Universal Park

The Penn Hills Shade Tree Commission will host an Arbor Day celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. on May 4th in Universal Park. The event will feature a tree planting ceremony, crafts for children, native tree seedling giveaways, and more. The Shade Tree Commission is celebrating the municipality’s fifth year as a Tree City USA, a designation for communities committed to growing and maintaining their tree canopies.

With just one day remaining, victory is within reach, but it will require teamwork and optimized gameplay. The community has demonstrated remarkable resolve in the face of challenges, and with the remaining planets being liberated at a rapid pace, there is hope for a successful completion.

Patten Free Library’s Annual Spelling Bee: A Night of Wordplay and Community

Join the Patten Free Library on May 10th at 5:30 p.m. in the Maine Maritime Museum’s Long Reach Hall for its annual spelling bee. Teams of spellers ages 16 and up will compete in three rounds of challenging spelling, with the winning team crowned as this year’s Champion Spellers. The event will feature a cash bar and snacks, and attendees can also participate in a raffle fundraiser benefiting the Patten Free Library’s educational programs and services.
