The Lions trailed 2-1 in the fourth inning but rallied with three runs to take the lead. Although Middletown South narrowed the gap in the sixth, Middletown North responded with a run in the seventh to secure the win.
Grand Valley State baseball made history on Saturday as Sam Leck threw the eighth complete game no-hitter in program history. The Sturgis native struck out five and walked three in a 5-1 win over Wayne State.
Ian Umlandt’s career-high nine strikeouts and a complete-game performance powered No. 22 Oregon to a 7-2 victory over San Francisco on Monday. Umlandt’s dominance on the mound halted a San Francisco rally in the first inning and prevented any additional hits until the seventh. Oregon’s offense, led by Carter Garate’s two-run single and home run, provided ample support for Umlandt. The Ducks’ first complete game since 2023 and the fifth complete game with no walks in program history sets the stage for their upcoming weekend series against No. 9 Oregon State.
