Cuomo Grilled Over Nursing Home Policies During Congressional Hearing

NYC Schools Leader Reveals Anti-Semitic Case That Has Troubled Him the Most

New York City Public Schools Chancellor David Banks testified before a congressional subcommittee that there have been 281 antisemitic and Islamophobic incidents within his school system since Hamas launched its attack on Israel in October. Among the incidents, Banks expressed his concern about the allegations surrounding behavior at Origins High School in Brooklyn where students allegedly chanted “Death to Israel” and “Kill the Jews.” He stated that despite an investigation, there was no evidence found that the “Death to the Jews” chant occurred, but acknowledged a range of troubling antisemitic incidents at the school. Banks emphasized that student suspensions have been issued and that the case is currently under litigation, preventing him from discussing specific details.
