A massive undertaking by various government agencies has ensured the cleanliness and hygiene of the streets and procession route of the grand Chithirai festival. Led by the Corporation Commissioner, C. Dinesh Kumar, the corporation deployed a workforce of 2,874 workers, including 800 additional hands, who worked tirelessly in three shifts to keep the area spotless before, during, and after all events. Over 100 officials supervised the laborious work, ensuring that waste was cleared within an hour from the procession route to prevent disease outbreaks. To facilitate waste disposal, trailers were designated at specific locations, and precautionary measures such as the spraying of bleaching powder, limestone powder, and lemon grass oil were implemented.
