Adam Montgomery, accused of murdering his 5-year-old daughter, Harmony, must appear in court for his sentencing on May 9th. Montgomery had initially failed to appear for his trial, but a judge has ruled that he must be present for the sentencing due to the mandatory requirement for defendants in second-degree murder cases to be present when the victim’s next of kin addresses the judge. The victim’s next of kin and others are expected to speak at the sentencing.
