He claimed that natural disasters like landslides and floods occur in Kerala because of the killing of cows, a statement widely condemned for its insensitivity and lack of scientific basis. The tragic landslide claimed over 200 lives and left hundreds missing, with search and rescue operations still ongoing.
In Madhya Pradesh, the Mandla district has seen the demolition of 11 houses as part of a crackdown on illegal beef trade. The houses were built on government land and were found to be used for the illegal confinement and slaughter of cows. 150 cows were rescued, and cow meat, fat, skin, and bones were seized. DNA analysis is underway to confirm the nature of the meat. One individual has been arrested, and searches are ongoing for the remaining ten suspects. The action highlights the state’s efforts to combat cow smuggling and protect the rights of animals.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has accused the opposition INDIA bloc of aiming to promote cow slaughter and has cautioned the public against becoming participants in this “sin.” Adityanath’s allegations came during a rally in support of BJP candidate Vijay Kumar Dubey in Kushinagar.
