NASA and Boeing Gearing Up for Starliner Crewed Launch to ISS

NASA and Boeing have finalized preparations for the inaugural crewed launch of the Starliner spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS), scheduled for Saturday. Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who will pilot the Starliner, have arrived at the launch site at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for quarantine until flight day, having previously experienced a launch delay in early May due to technical issues with the rocket and spacecraft. Weather conditions appear favorable for the launch window on Saturday, with a backup launch opportunity available on Sunday and additional windows on Wednesday and Thursday if necessary.

Boeing’s Starliner Set to Launch Astronauts to the International Space Station

After numerous delays and setbacks, Boeing is finally ready to send astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard its Starliner spacecraft. This historic launch, scheduled for May 6, 2023, will be the first crewed flight for Starliner and will mark a significant milestone in human spaceflight. The mission, known as Crew Flight Test (CFT), will carry astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams to the ISS, where they will spend approximately one week conducting research and testing the Starliner’s systems.
