Azul Airlines is significantly expanding its services to Curaçao, launching new flights from Fort Lauderdale and doubling its routes from Brazil. This surge in airlift, coupled with increased visitor numbers and hospitality growth, points to a booming tourism sector for the island.
Curaçao has experienced a significant increase in stayover visitors from Brazil, contributing to the growth of its tourism industry. As of the first quarter of 2024, over 10,500 Brazilian visitors arrived on the island. This growth is attributed to enhanced air connectivity, including the direct flight from Brazil. To cater to the influx of tourists, the Curaçao Tourist Board implemented a Basic Portuguese course for industry workers. Over 65 employees completed the program, equipping them with linguistic skills to better serve Brazilian visitors.
