Level 33 Entertainment has secured the North American distribution and global sales rights for ‘East Bay,’ a dark comedy featuring Constance Wu from ‘Fresh Off the Boat’ and ‘Crazy Rich Asians.’ The film, which won the audience award at the Cinequest Film and Creativity festival in 2022, is set to hit North American theaters next month before becoming available digitally. ‘East Bay’ follows a man grappling with disappointment from his immigrant parents and a series of personal and professional setbacks that force him to confront his perceived failures. His close friends, including Wu’s character, an arts administrator, a guru, and computer programmers, each face their own struggles amidst societal pressures for happiness and success.
