In recent years, the Premier League has lost its standing as the greatest football league in the globe due to a combination of factors, including: absence of English clubs in European finals, widening game disparity, a culture of greed by club owners, and a lack of respect for supporters. The league’s leaders, obsessed with profit maximization, have disregarded the game’s traditions, such as FA Cup replays and historical ties to the community. The recent threat to move league matches overseas has further alienated fans, while the improper utilization of VAR has fueled disappointment. Unless drastic measures are taken, including the implementation of an independent regulator, the Premier League will continue to decline and may face irreversible harm.
