Meta Platforms is expanding the reach of its Quest headset software, Meta Horizon OS, to other device manufacturers, including Asus and Lenovo. The move aligns with Meta’s goal of becoming a central player in the development of next-generation virtual and mixed reality technologies. Meta Horizon OS offers capabilities such as gesture recognition and spatial anchors to compatible devices. The company is also collaborating with partners to develop specialized headsets, including a gaming-focused model inspired by Xbox. Despite limited adoption so far, VR and MR headsets are gaining traction in the gaming and enterprise sectors.
