Google Fires Over 20 Workers After Employee Protests

Google has fired more than 20 additional workers after employee sit-ins last week. The group organizing the protests alleges the firings are retaliation against employees who participated or were present during the protests. Google has confirmed the terminations, stating that the employees were involved in disruptive activities during the protests. This brings the total number of employees fired to approximately 50. The protests were in response to Google’s policies and relationships, including its work with Amazon and its perceived lack of support for employees who have spoken out. The company has also terminated employees who criticized its relationships with the Israeli military.
