Meta Platforms has announced its compliance with the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) by enabling interoperability between its messaging services, WhatsApp and Messenger, with third-party apps. This move allows users in Europe to connect with individuals using other messaging services, offering a more unified and user-friendly experience. While the initial rollout includes basic interoperability features, Meta plans to expand functionality to include group chats and voice/video calling in the coming years.
