Kolkata Doctor Rape Case: Protesting Doctors Demand Live Streaming in Meeting with Chief Minister

Former Principal of RG Kar Medical College Arrested in Doctor Rape Case and Financial Irregularities

The former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Sandip Ghosh, has been arrested by the CBI for alleged financial misconduct and his potential involvement in the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at the hospital. The arrest comes after a 15-day investigation and protests by junior doctors demanding justice. Ghosh is also under investigation for organ trafficking allegations.

Prime Accused in Kolkata Doctor Rape Case Undergoes Lie Detector Test

Sanjoy Roy, the prime accused in the alleged rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, underwent a lie detector test on Sunday. The test, conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), comes after Roy previously claimed innocence and stated that the test would prove his innocence. Two more individuals will also undergo the test at the CBI office in Kolkata, while four others, including the hospital’s former principal, underwent the test on Saturday. Roy’s arrest followed the discovery of the doctor’s body in a seminar hall, with CCTV footage and a Bluetooth headphone linking him to the crime.
