India Successfully Tests Ballistic Missile Defence System in Second Phase Trial

India successfully conducted the second phase of flight testing of its Ballistic Missile Defence System (BMDS), demonstrating its capability to defend against hostile missiles with a range of 5,000km. The test, conducted at the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur, Odisha, validated a comprehensive network-centric warfare weapon system featuring long-range sensors, advanced communication systems, and interceptor missiles.

India Successfully Launches New Medium-Range Ballistic Missile

India has successfully launched a new version of its Medium-Range Ballistic Missile (MRBM) on April 23, 2024. The launch was conducted under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command and proved the operational capability of the new missile, which is not part of the Agni family of weapons systems. The missile is capable of striking targets at distances exceeding 250 kilometers and incorporates new technologies. The launch comes after the successful test flight of an Indigenous Technology Cruise Missile (ITCM) by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on April 18.
