This comes amidst an ongoing investigation into Tesla vehicles involved in crashes while using FSD, including one fatal incident involving a pedestrian. The regulator has requested Tesla to clarify its communication regarding FSD and has set a deadline for the company to provide further information on crashes.

Tesla has announced that its ‘Actually Smart Summon’ feature, which allows drivers to summon their vehicles remotely in parking lots, will be available for older Model S and Model X vehicles in the last quarter of 2024. This follows the initial rollout of the feature to newer models in September. The feature utilizes camera technology for driver assistance and allows users to summon their vehicles to a specific location and dismiss them via the Tesla app.
