Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu visited India for a four-day state visit, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening relations with India. He assured that the Maldives would not engage in any activities that undermine India’s security and emphasized the importance of cooperation in various fields, including defense. The visit comes after a period of strained relations between the two countries, with President Muizzu previously leading an ‘India Out’ campaign during his election.

Buddha Purnima, also known as Buddha Jayanti or Vesak, is an annual celebration observed on the first full moon of the Hindu calendar month Vaishakha. It commemorates the birth of Lord Gautam Buddha, who was born as Prince Siddhartha Gautam in Lumbini, present-day Nepal, around 563 BC. Buddhists worldwide observe Buddha Purnima with great fervor and enthusiasm.
