Fabio Di Giannantonio, the Ducati-VR46 rider, will miss the final two MotoGP races of the season to undergo surgery on his dislocated left shoulder. The injury, sustained in August, will be repaired in Italy after the Thai Grand Prix, ending his 2023 campaign. Di Giannantonio, currently 10th in the championship, will be looking to return fully fit for the 2025 season.

Italian rider Franco Morbidelli will race for Valentino Rossi’s Ducati-VR46 team in the 2024 MotoGP season. The move comes after a challenging season for Morbidelli with Ducati-Pramac, where he has struggled to replicate his 2020 runner-up form. He will join forces with Fabio Di Giannantonio at the VR46 team.
