Japanese designer Satoshi Kuwata of Setchu collaborated with Davies & Son, the oldest tailor on Savile Row, to create a unique exhibition and special project during La Biennale. Kuwata showcased bespoke tailored suits that fused Japanese aesthetics with the meticulous craftsmanship of Savile Row. The installation featured traditional Japanese elements, such as foldable paper lamps, tatami mats, ceramic stools, and customized espresso cups, juxtaposed with the structured silhouettes of British tailoring. This cross-cultural dialogue highlighted both the rigor of traditional tailoring and the potential for innovation and adaptability within established dress codes.
