A mid-air helicopter collision during rehearsals for a Malaysian Navy Fleet Open Day has left 10 soldiers dead. The incident involved a Eurocopter Fennec lightweight helicopter and a Maritime Operations Helicopter (HOM), built by Leonardo. The Malaysian Navy has initiated an investigation with the assistance of the air force and the director general of technical airworthiness. The tragedy has raised concerns about the military’s preparedness and training, as well as the alleged use of helicopters from different units and models in the fly-past formation. The victims’ families are devastated by the loss, with relatives sharing memories of their loved ones’ excitement for the upcoming Eid celebration and their dedication to their families. Mumbai Police have apprehended two suspects, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, in connection with a planned assassination attempt on Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The suspects had allegedly planned to attack Khan during Eid celebrations at his Panvel farmhouse. However, the plan was thwarted as the farmhouse celebration was canceled. The suspects conducted reconnaissance outside the farmhouse and rented a house nearby. They were also seen surveilling Khan’s residence in Mumbai. Police believe the suspects were part of the Bishnoi gang and received information from the gang members. The suspects disposed of the weapon in the Tapi River in Gujarat, but it has not yet been recovered.
