Prosecutors Accuse Trump of ‘Corrupting’ 2016 Election Through Hush Money Payments

During opening statements, prosecutor Matthew Colangelo accused former President Trump of seeking to influence the 2016 election by making hush money payments to Stormy Daniels. The prosecution alleges that these payments, along with three “catch and kill” deals, were part of a conspiracy to conceal damaging information from voters.
