INDIA Alliance Meeting Likely in Delhi Today for Post-Poll Strategy

**New Delhi:** Amidst the ongoing election results, the Indian National Developmental, Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) group of parties is likely to hold a meeting in Delhi on June 5 to discuss future strategy. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar confirmed the meeting and stated that a decision on the next PM would be taken unanimously.

Mr. Pawar also mentioned that he had spoken to Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and Left party leader Sitaram Yechury regarding the meeting. He clarified that the meeting was not related to government formation but to chart the future course of action for the alliance.

As of 3.45 p.m., the NCPSP was leading in at least seven seats in Maharashtra, while the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, which includes the NCPSP, was leading in 29 out of 48 seats. Mr. Pawar’s daughter, Supriya Sule, was also leading in her stronghold of Baramati with a significant margin.

Meanwhile, the ruling BJP was leading in 11 seats, and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena was leading in 6 seats.

As of 11 am, the NDA and INDIA coalitions are neck-and-neck in the 11 major South Indian cities, each leading in 5 seats, while parties outside the alliances are leading in one seat. This is an improvement for the NDA, which gained one seat compared to 2019, while the INDIA coalition remains unchanged. The BJP and Congress are the leading parties, while the AIADMK has gained ground in Chennai. The Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram constituencies are seeing close contests between the NDA and INDIA coalitions, while the NDA leads in Secunderabad and the INDIA coalition leads in Ernakulam. Visakhapatnam is led by the Telugu Desam Party of the NDA coalition.

Postal ballots will be counted first, as per existing rules.
