A devastating fire at a New Born Baby Care Hospital in Delhi’s Vivek Vihar claimed the lives of six infants on Saturday night. The Delhi Fire Department suspects an electric fault as the possible cause of the tragedy. The hospital’s license was expired, there was no emergency exit system, and some doctors were unqualified to care for newborns. The Delhi Police have arrested two accused, including the hospital owner, and added serious charges to the FIR. In light of the incident, fire safety equipment will now be made compulsory in all Delhi hospitals, regardless of their size.
