AMR Offers Scholarships to Train Paramedics Amid Shortage

To address the ongoing paramedic shortage and improve response times, American Medical Response (AMR) is providing full scholarships to train paramedics in the greater Portland area. The College of Emergency Services (CES) in Clackamas is currently training a class of 32 paramedic interns with the support of AMR scholarships, estimated at $20,000 per student. The program offers classes two days a week, allowing EMTs to continue working while advancing their skills. AMR requires a two-year work contract in a local county after graduation and licensure in exchange for full scholarships.
