Terrorist Encounters in Jammu and Kashmir Amidst Assembly Elections

Accused in Badlapur Rape Case Shot Dead by Police

Akshay Shinde, the accused in the Badlapur sexual assault case, was shot dead by a police officer in what police claim was an attempt to escape custody. The incident occurred after Shinde allegedly snatched a policeman’s gun and fired, injuring an assistant police inspector. The accused’s family has disputed the police’s version of events, claiming he was pressured into confessing and could not have fired at the police.

Nine Maoists Killed in Encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada

A joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) killed nine Maoists in an ongoing encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district. The operation, which began on Tuesday morning, resulted in the recovery of a large quantity of weapons, including several rifles. This brings the total number of Naxalites killed by security forces in Chhattisgarh this year to 154.

Priyanka Gandhi Condemns Terrorism After CRPF Inspector’s Death in J&K Encounter
