Terrorist Encounter in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir

Security forces engaged in a gun battle with terrorists in the Basantgarh area of Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday. The encounter began after security forces established contact with the group hiding in the higher reaches of the Pathi Nalla Khanerd area. Meanwhile, opposition parties in Jammu and Kashmir announced a joint protest in Kathua on August 8 to demand the restoration of statehood and the rollback of amendments empowering the lieutenant governor.

12 Naxals Killed in Gadchiroli Encounter, Security Forces Recover Arms

Twelve Naxals were killed in a major operation by Gadchiroli police commandos on the Chhattisgarh-Gadchiroli border near Maharashtra’s Kanker. The encounter, which lasted over six hours, also resulted in the recovery of a significant cache of arms, including AK-47 rifles and INSAS rifles. The operation comes as Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis performed the ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ for a new steel plant in Gadchiroli, aimed at providing employment opportunities in the Naxal-affected district.

Two Pakistani Terrorists Killed in Encounter in Jammu and Kashmir

Two Pakistani terrorists, identified as Usman and Umar, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. Both terrorists were associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and had been active in the Kashmir Valley since 2020. The encounter broke out after terrorists opened fire on security forces during a cordon-and-search operation. Two security personnel were injured during the operation, and a large amount of weapons and ammunition were recovered.

Encounter in Pulwama, Arms Cache Recovered in Kupwara

On Monday, an encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The search operation turned into an encounter after militants fired on the forces, who retaliated. The exchange of fire is ongoing with no casualties reported yet. Meanwhile, a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police in Kupwara resulted in the recovery of a large cache of arms, ammunition, and war-like stores. Additionally, three Indian Army lieutenant colonels and 13 others have been named in a case related to the violent attack on the Kupwara police station on May 30. In a separate incident, the Indian Army eliminated three terrorists in ‘Operation Redwani Payeen’ in Kulgam on May 6.

Security Forces Engage in Encounter with Terrorists in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir

An ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists is taking place in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir, following an extensive search operation launched to apprehend gunmen responsible for the May 4th attack on an Indian Air Force convoy in the Poonch sector. The identity of the terrorists engaging in the firefight remains unknown at this stage of the operation. Meanwhile, search operations have been intensified from Surankote to Jarran Wali Gali, with heavy security deployment in the area.
