Government Prioritizes Addressing Missing Persons’ Issue, Forms Committee

Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar has announced that only 23% of missing persons’ cases remain unresolved out of 10,200 registered cases. The government, under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s directives, is reconstituting the committee on missing persons, which will include representatives from various political parties. Law Minister Tarar emphasized the importance of finding a political solution alongside legal remedies to address this longstanding issue. The government acknowledges the involvement of certain individuals among missing persons in terror-related incidents, while also recognizing that not all reports are accurate.
