Engineer Rashid, an independent Member of Parliament from Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla constituency, has been granted interim bail until October 2nd by the Delhi Patiala House Court in a terror funding case. This comes just days before the first phase of polling in Kashmir on September 18th, with Rashid’s brother contesting the upcoming assembly elections.
A Delhi court has reserved its order on the bail plea of Lok Sabha MP Rashid Engineer, who is in jail in a terror funding case. The court is expected to pronounce its order on September 4th. Engineer Rashid, who was elected from Baramulla constituency in Jammu and Kashmir, has been in jail since 2019 after being arrested by the NIA under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. He is accused of funding terrorist groups and separatists in the Kashmir Valley.
