Animal agriculture, encompassing meat, eggs, dairy, and co-products, is a major contributor to climate change, next only to fossil fuels. Despite scientific warnings, world leaders continue to support the industry, harming animals, the planet, and farmers alike. A shift to plant-based diets would significantly reduce land use, deforestation, and greenhouse gas emissions, while also offering economic benefits to farmers. With one of the world’s most innovative vegan markets, the UK is well-positioned to lead the transition away from animal farming and mitigate the climate crisis.

Understanding the composition of gases is crucial in today’s environmentally conscious world. Beta Analytic’s -14 testing empowers stakeholders to mitigate environmental concerns by reliably measuring biogenic content in hydrocarbon and fuel gases, supporting clean fuel standards and promoting sustainability. Biogenic carbon, derived from renewable sources, contrasts with fossil fuels that contribute to climate change. ASTM D6866 analysis serves as the gold standard for biogenic carbon testing, enabling effective distinction between fossil and renewable sources. Governments leverage biogenic test results to allocate tax credits and carbon credits transparently. Beta Analytic’s ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation and expertise ensure the accuracy and reliability of testing services, empowering clients to make informed decisions regarding their environmental impact.

Beginning Friday, 2,000 volunteers will scour 300 kilometers of river pathways in Calgary, anticipating the collection of thousands of kilograms of garbage. This annual cleanup effort, sparked by the discovery of a mattress in the Elbow River by 12-year-old Sandra Crawford in 1967, has evolved to address modern challenges such as encampments with potential hazards like drugs and weapons. Volunteers are equipped with special tools and knowledge to handle any dangers encountered, such as needles, which are flagged and reported to Alpha House for safe removal.
