Tesla Expands Supercharger Network Despite Layoffs, Growing at 23% Year-on-Year

Tesla has continued to expand its Supercharger network, adding 2,800 new stalls in the third quarter, despite recent layoffs. This represents a 23% year-on-year growth, bringing the total number of Supercharger connectors to over 62,000 globally. The network’s growth rate has slowed slightly since the layoffs, but Tesla remains committed to expanding its reach, particularly in areas with high demand and strategic importance. The company aims to deploy more ‘working’ Superchargers than the rest of the industry combined.

Tesla to Bring ‘Actually Smart Summon’ to Older Model S and X in Q4 2024

Tesla has announced that its ‘Actually Smart Summon’ feature, which allows drivers to summon their vehicles remotely in parking lots, will be available for older Model S and Model X vehicles in the last quarter of 2024. This follows the initial rollout of the feature to newer models in September. The feature utilizes camera technology for driver assistance and allows users to summon their vehicles to a specific location and dismiss them via the Tesla app.

Kia Expands EV Charging Options with NACS Adapters

Kia is expanding its commitment to electric vehicle (EV) accessibility by offering NACS adapters for its EV6 and EV9 models, giving owners access to a wider network of fast chargers in the US. Starting in early 2025, Kia EV owners will enjoy seamless charging experiences with the Kia Access app and expanded charging options, including access to over 16,500 NACS DC fast chargers across the US.
