To ensure the safety of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in light of post-poll violence, officials in various districts of Andhra Pradesh have bolstered security measures at strongrooms. District Collectors and Superintendents of Police have instructed Central Armed Police Forces, Armed Reserve, and Law and Order police to maintain strict vigil at these facilities.
Inspectors ensured the safety of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) at counting centres in Salem, Namakkal, and Dharmapuri districts. Multiple security measures were implemented, including five-layer security for strong rooms and CCTV surveillance with footage access in the control room. Central armed force personnel were deployed on shifts, and political party representatives witnessed the sealing of the strong rooms.
