The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating allegations of malpractice during the NEET-UG exam held in Godhra, Gujarat, on May 5. The investigation follows a complaint by the Gujarat police who arrested five individuals, including a school principal and a teacher, for allegedly helping 27 candidates clear the exam for payments amounting to Rs 10 lakh each. The CBI’s investigation focuses on the alleged conspiracy and cheating involved in the malpractice, which included providing answer keys and filling in blank answer sheets. Concerns have also emerged regarding the role of agents in securing distant exam centers for candidates, raising questions about potential manipulation of rank outcomes.
