PureGym, the UK’s largest gym group, is set to open 200 new venues across the country and Switzerland. The expansion plan includes opening 40 to 50 company-owned gyms in the UK this year, with a majority of those expected to open within the UK. The group, which operates over 600 gyms with around 370 in the UK, has seen strong performance from its new gyms in recent months, giving it confidence in its continued expansion programme. The move comes as several other major retailers are also expanding their presence on UK high streets, including Aldi, Asda, B&M, Greggs, Home Bargains, Primark, Screwfix, Tesco, WHSmith, and Lidl.

Amazon has announced the closure of its drone delivery site in Lockeford, California, as part of plans to expand the program to other cities. The site was one of the first to offer Prime Air delivery, which delivers packages to customers’ backyards in under an hour. The company did not provide a specific closure date but said employees will be offered opportunities at other locations. Amazon also plans to expand the program to Arizona this year and roll out its new MK30 drone.
Geneva Winery continues its rapid expansion with the opening of a new location in Batavia. The latest addition joins the original winery and tasting room in Geneva, as well as the Geneva Winery Bistro and Wine Bar. The Batavia facility features a full banquet room, seating along the Fox River, and a focus on locally produced wines. With a fourth location under construction in Elburn, Geneva Winery aims to bring its unique blend of community and winemaking to various neighborhoods.
