Miami International Airport’s Flamingo Garage Extension Commences Construction

From May 1, 2024, to November 2024, Miami International Airport’s lower drive between concourses G to J will be narrowed to three lanes due to the construction of the Flamingo Parking Garage extension. Hotel shuttles will now operate from the departures level. Expect delays and allocate extra time for navigation. Miami-Dade Aviation Department officers will be onsite to assist with traffic flow. The Flamingo garage extension, boasting 2,240 spaces across seven levels and costing $136 million, is scheduled for completion by summer 2026. It will feature 50 electric vehicle charging stations and energy-efficient LED lighting, earning Parksmart Silver Certification for sustainable practices.

Nissan Unveils New EVs and Outlines Expansion Plans in China

Nissan Motor has unveiled four new electric vehicle (EV) models at China’s largest auto show, Auto China, showcasing its commitment to the Chinese market. Despite intense competition and a price war, Nissan plans to introduce eight new models by 2026 through its joint venture with Dongfeng Motor. The company aims to expand its product lineup with more EV and hybrid cars, targeting sales of over 1 million units in China by 2026. Nissan also announced plans to start exporting vehicles produced in China next year, including 100,000 units in the initial phase.

Fresno Costco to Relocate and Expand with a Massive New Warehouse

After a month of delays and a two-hour hearing, the Fresno City Council has approved plans for a new Costco warehouse to replace the existing location on West Shaw Avenue. The new warehouse will be significantly larger at 219,000 square feet, making it one of the largest in the world. It will feature a 32-pump gas station, a car wash, a dedicated food delivery service, and ample parking. The store is expected to create 37 new full-time jobs and generate $13 million in tax revenue. Construction is scheduled to begin in the fall and finish by the end of 2025.

PureGym to Open 200 New Gyms Across UK and Switzerland

PureGym, the UK’s largest gym group, is set to open 200 new venues across the country and Switzerland. The expansion plan includes opening 40 to 50 company-owned gyms in the UK this year, with a majority of those expected to open within the UK. The group, which operates over 600 gyms with around 370 in the UK, has seen strong performance from its new gyms in recent months, giving it confidence in its continued expansion programme. The move comes as several other major retailers are also expanding their presence on UK high streets, including Aldi, Asda, B&M, Greggs, Home Bargains, Primark, Screwfix, Tesco, WHSmith, and Lidl.

Amazon Closes California Drone Delivery Site Ahead of Expansion

Amazon has announced the closure of its drone delivery site in Lockeford, California, as part of plans to expand the program to other cities. The site was one of the first to offer Prime Air delivery, which delivers packages to customers’ backyards in under an hour. The company did not provide a specific closure date but said employees will be offered opportunities at other locations. Amazon also plans to expand the program to Arizona this year and roll out its new MK30 drone.

The latest addition joins the original winery and tasting room in Geneva, as well as the Geneva Winery Bistro and Wine Bar. The Batavia facility features a full banquet room, seating along the Fox River, and a focus on locally produced wines. With a fourth location under construction in Elburn, Geneva Winery aims to bring its unique blend of community and winemaking to various neighborhoods.
