Jalen Rose, former NBA player and part of the University of Michigan’s legendary Fab Five, will be a keynote speaker at Grand Valley State University’s Black Boys and Men National Symposium. The symposium, taking place June 12-14, aims to help educators and individuals working with youth understand the historical factors that have shaped outcomes for Black boys and men. Rose will share his personal journey and address the systemic barriers he and other Black boys and men have faced. The symposium will also include breakout sessions and presentations to provide attendees with strategies for creating equitable outcomes and supporting the upliftment of Black boys and men.
