Former Rutgers Guard Jillian Huerter Transfers to Fairfield University

Former Rutgers women’s basketball guard Jillian Huerter has transferred to Fairfield University, a powerhouse program in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Huerter, a freshman sharpshooter, averaged 6.9 points and made 57 three-pointers last season. She joins a Fairfield team that is coming off a historic 31-2 campaign, culminating in an NCAA tournament berth. The Stags went undefeated in conference play, winning both the regular season and tournament championships. They defeated Rutgers 78-54 last season, a game in which Huerter contributed nine points by hitting three three-pointers. Rutgers has been busy making moves to replenish its roster after losing three players to the NCAA transfer portal in the offseason. The team has signed JoJo Lacey, a graduate transfer from Boston College, and five-star guard Kiyomi McMiller, a member of the Class of 2024. They have also landed four-star recruit Zacahara Perkins of Summer Creek High School in Houston, Texas.
