Another Ohio Family Dollar Closes, Leaving Conesville Residents Disappointed

Family Dollar is closing another location in Ohio, this time in Conesville, leaving residents without easy access to affordable essentials. The store, which opened in January 2021, employed seven to 10 sales associates but is now set to lay off all employees by April 20. Some residents are expressing disappointment and concern about the loss of a convenient shopping option, while others question the store’s sales performance. The closure is part of a larger trend of Family Dollar store closures in Ohio, with 34 other locations closing on or around April 20. Family Dollar’s parent company, Dollar Tree, plans to shut down around 1,000 stores in the coming years, citing declining sales due to the cost-of-living crisis, inflation, and reduced government benefits.
