Indian Railways Announces Over 200 Special Trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja Festivities

As Diwali festivities kick off in India with Dhanteras, the Indian Railways has announced over 200 special trains to cater to the increased travel demand during the festive season. These trains will operate from October 29th onwards, coinciding with Diwali and Chhath Puja celebrations. In addition, 20 ‘Festival Special Trains’ are also scheduled to run on October 29th. This initiative by the Railways aims to ensure smooth travel for passengers during the peak festive period.

Indian Railways Announces Special Trains for Ganesh Chaturthi 2024

To accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival, Indian Railways is operating nearly 304 special trains across various routes. This includes 56 special trains by Western Central Railway and seven special trains by Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) to cater to the influx of travelers returning to their hometowns in Konkan from Mumbai.

Central Railway Announces 202 Special Trains for Ganesh Chaturthi Festivities

The Central Railway in India has announced 202 special trains to cater to the influx of devotees during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. These trains will operate between September 1st and 18th, providing convenient travel options to popular destinations like Sawantwadi, Ratnagiri, and Chiplun. The Maharashtra government has also announced financial assistance for milk producers and a special food package for ration card holders during the festival.
