Four Tamil Nadu fishermen were injured after their boat was struck by a Sri Lankan navy craft while fishing in international waters. The fishermen were rescued by other fishermen and brought to shore with injuries and significant losses to their fishing equipment and catch.

Thirteen Indian fishermen, arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy for allegedly fishing beyond territorial borders, were released and returned to Chennai on Saturday. They were received by officials from the state fisheries department and sent off to their hometowns in a special bus. This comes after Chief Minister M.K. Stalin intervened and requested the release of the fishermen.
