Heavy rains in Delhi led to widespread flooding, including at Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s residence. Tharoor shared a video of his flooded home and criticized the clogged drainage system. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena responded to the situation, pledging to address the issue. The floods also caused a roof collapse at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, resulting in one fatality and several injuries.

Pune Flooded After Heavy Pre-Monsoon Rains, Traffic Disrupted

Heavy pre-monsoon rains lashed Pune on Saturday, June 8, leading to flooding in several areas and causing traffic disruptions. The downpour, which began around 5 pm, uprooted trees at 15 locations in the city. Waterlogging was reported in various parts of Pune, including Sinhagad Road’s Pashan, where water accumulated on the ground floor of a building. Traffic was disrupted on major roads such as Deccan Gymkhana, Jungli Maharaj Road, Karve Road, Nagar Road, Dhanori, Vimannagar, Solapur, and Satara Road. Residents took to social media to share videos of the flooding and waterlogging, expressing concerns about the lack of infrastructure to handle heavy rains. The Shivaji Nagar and Pashan areas recorded 67.4 mm and 56.8 mm of rainfall, respectively, on Saturday.
