Linda Sun, a former aide to New York Governor Kathy Hochul, has been arrested and accused of working for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) while serving in her official capacity. Sun, along with her husband Chris Hu, were charged with violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act, visa fraud, alien smuggling, and money laundering conspiracy. The indictment alleges that Sun and Hu used their positions to benefit the CCP and amassed millions of dollars in real estate purchases in New York and Hawaii. Governor Hochul has defended the state’s employee vetting program, while Sun’s defense attorney claims she is innocent.
