Frankfurt Airport, Germany’s largest aviation hub, saw a modest 0.5% increase in passenger traffic in July compared to the previous year. This represents a significant slowdown from earlier months in 2024. While long-haul routes show strong demand, the airport’s overall recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic remains a work in progress.
Frankfurt Airport (FRA) saw a 1.4% increase in passenger traffic in June 2024, reaching 5.6 million passengers. However, this growth was influenced by the timing of the Whitsun holiday and remains 14.4% below pre-Covid levels. Cargo traffic at FRA rose by 11.4%, and the airport’s international portfolio also saw mixed results. While Ljubljana Airport saw a significant increase, Brazilian airports in Fortaleza and Porto Alegre experienced a drop due to flooding. Lima Airport saw a surge, and Fraport’s Greek regional airports saw a positive increase.
