Preordered trees are now available for pickup at Freeport Community Library until April 27th. The library will be distributing over 100 white cedar saplings, making this year’s tree giveaway the largest since the program’s inception two years ago. The program, in partnership with Neighborhood Trees, aims to provide children with native saplings and foster environmental stewardship. Over 900 organizations nationwide participate in the program, with plans to distribute over 67,000 saplings to children in North America this year.
