Alligator Delay: 10-Foot Reptile Removed from Aircraft at MacDill Air Force Base

Air operations at MacDill Air Force Base in Hillsborough County, Florida, were hindered by an unexpected guest – a 10-foot-long alligator that was found resting near the wheels of a parked airplane. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) was called in to safely remove the reptile from the tarmac. The alligator, dubbed the base’s newest ‘toothy Airman,’ was relocated to the Hillsborough River. This incident highlights the presence of alligators in Florida’s natural habitats and the importance of maintaining a safe distance from them.
