An enormous alligator has been captured and released into the Hillsborough River after being found on the runway of MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) responded to the situation and removed the alligator. Officials note that alligators are known to venture into unusual areas during their mating season.
Air operations at MacDill Air Force Base in Hillsborough County, Florida, were hindered by an unexpected guest – a 10-foot-long alligator that was found resting near the wheels of a parked airplane. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) was called in to safely remove the reptile from the tarmac. The alligator, dubbed the base’s newest ‘toothy Airman,’ was relocated to the Hillsborough River.
