Mercedes-Benz has finally revealed its highly anticipated all-electric G-Wagen, the EQG, marking a significant step towards electrification for the iconic luxury off-roader. The EQG boasts impressive specs, including a 116 kWh battery, four electric motors with a combined output of 580 horsepower, and a max torque of 1,164 Newton-meters. It offers an estimated range of 293 miles (473 km) on the WLTP standard, and comes equipped with advanced off-roading features such as a tank turn and a three-speed intelligent crawl function. Despite its electric nature, the EQG stays true to its rugged heritage with a ladder frame concept and a unique underbody skid plate for added battery protection. The interior remains familiar with high-quality materials and plenty of physical buttons, while the exterior features subtle design changes and illuminated accents. The EQG represents Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to electrification without compromising the G-Class’s legendary capabilities.
