AMD has announced plans for a next-generation Ryzen Z2 Extreme SoC, promising significant performance and battery life improvements for gaming handhelds. This new chip, based on Zen 5 architecture and RDNA 3.5 graphics, is set to power the next wave of gaming handhelds in early 2025, competing with Intel’s new Core Ultra 200V series.
The Asus ROG Ally X is an upgraded version of the popular ROG Ally gaming handheld. It features a number of improvements over the original model, including a more powerful APU, more memory, a larger SSD, and a redesigned chassis. The ROG Ally X is expected to be released in July 2024 with a recommended list price of $800.
