Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) announces the organization of the “Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR – International Cities of Gastronomy Fest” from June 14 to 23. The highlight of this celebration will be the “International Gastronomy Forum, Macao” scheduled for June 17. Postponed due to the pandemic, the Forum aims to assemble delegates from Creative Cities of Gastronomy worldwide, along with industry leaders and influential figures, to discuss the crucial link between gastronomy, wellness, and sustainable practices. The Forum will showcase Macao as a hub for preserving culinary heritage and fostering international collaboration among Creative Cities of Gastronomy. It will feature panel sessions and an idea-exchange meeting under the theme “Holistic Gastronomy: Eat well, live well.” MGTO has played an active role in developing Macao’s gastronomic profile since its designation as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2017. Their participation in global events and alignment with the “1 + 4” diversification strategy have strengthened tourism and gastronomy ties. The “International Cities of Gastronomy Fest, Macao” will further enhance Macao’s position as a Creative City of Gastronomy and promote connections between gastronomy, wellness, tourism, and other industries. The event aims to revitalize Macao’s tourism and hospitality sectors while providing a vibrant platform for both locals and visitors to enjoy.
